Ruby has a new fascination with helping in the kitchen. She wants to help with everything. Making lunch, cleaning up, baking, everything. It all started when she happened to find some videos on You Tube of the Betty Crocker Kitchens. Yup, you heard me right. She found them herself and she LOVES to watch them. The lady makes and decorates cakes, Princess, Mario, Pirate, Barbie, you name it, she makes it and Ru loves it. So any time I am doing something in the kitchen Ru wants to get a "big chair" and help me out.
Last week I decided I was going to make some salsa from a recipe I found on Pinterest. Of course, I had my helper ready to go.
I found this recipe and decided to give it a try.

I started with my ingredients,
Then my assistant and I got to work.
Cutest assistant I ever did see.
I really changed nothing from the recipe. It was quite easy. I do need to give one plug though so listen up.
If you do a lot of cooking with garlic you must get this utensil if you do not already have one.

It is a Garlic Peeler from Pampered Chef and it is only 8 bucks. It is basically a silicone tube.
First you put your garlic cloves in it.
Roll the tube like you are rolling dough and it comes out completely peeled for you.
You hands come out unsmelly and the garlic is ready to use. Seriously, this is brilliant.
So anyway, I save all my jars when I get finished with them so I grabbed a few and filled them up. I was able to fill 3 jars and still had a bit leftover. Don't worry, Bryce took care of it. :)
Once it was all said and done I had a ton of cilantro leftover. I had heard you can freeze it so, of course, I decided to give it a whirl.
I put it in ice cube trays and poured a little water over it.
It is currently in my freezer waiting for it's next use. I will let you know how it works next time I use it.
